SUNDAY 28th SEPTEMBER
Something magic happens when a child picks up a pencil and crayons - they seem to have an endless ability to create shapes and pictures on the page. However, often when learning music and instruments, children feel that they are not allowed to be as free, explorative and expressive. In this session, we will practice turning drawings into music, using a range of instruments including piano, percussion, guitar and our voices. We will use musical language and learn music theory terminology.
For younger ones, this can bridge the gap between different skills such as letters, numbers, colours and shapes. For older ones, this will develop a confidence in self-expression and a deeper understanding of music theory.
Suitable for ages 6-16.
Start time 10am. End time 11.30am. Duration 1hour and 30mins.
The session will be held from my music studio in Fishersgate, near Brighton. I am fully DBS checked, the studio has all necessary facilities and I will provide all instruments and materials needed for the session. The exact address will be sent to individual participants nearer the event.
